My paintings are inspired by:

(a) nature, mountains, wild things and great open spaces,

(b) the works of the early California Impressionists (especially Wendt & Payne)

(c) amazing current artists like Kenn Backhaus, Jean LeGassick, and Jesse Powell

I paint quickly, with five colors and big brushes. I've found there's no better way to avoid making an overworked mess. The result (at least I hope) is something fresh - landscapes with a lot of light, pure colors, brave colors, and raw brushwork.

Most importantly, my paintings are of wild places that I love dearly. I hope they remind you of something that makes you feel the same.
